Katrin Merle wurde 1967 in Berlin geboren. Schon als Kind hat sie gerne gezeichnet und gemalt. Nach der Ausbildung zur Modedesignerin arbeitete sie eine Zeit lang in der Modebranche und als Werbegrafikerin. Seit einigen Jahren illustriert sie als freie Illustratorin Kinder- und Schulbücher.
