Author Biography
Likla Lall writes books for children about art with Art1st. She is the author of the IPPY award-winning 'Art is a Verb', and the evocative 'Somnath Hore: Wounds'. Likla also writes for Little Light, on a curriculum that encourages children to connect with themselves and nurture the joy within. Interested in experimenting with narrative formats, Likla is a creator at PanicNot!, a storytelling collective and community. She is also a frequent contributor to the WinC (Women in Comics) Magazine in New York. Beyond an ardent love for books, she finds joy in a lifelong practice of dance and movement. Eva Sanchez Gomez -She was born in Puigcerdà and she lives and draws in La Garriga nowadays. She graduated with her Fine Arts degree from University of Barcelona and thence focused on illustration in “Escola Francesca Bonnemaison” of “La Diputació de Barcelona”. Her tender, grumpy, melancholic, funny, or ironic characters accompanied her all along this learning process.Since then, she has illustrated more than thirty novels and picture books for publishers from different countries.Her works has been showed in quite a few collective exhibitions and art markets.She has been selected to take part on the Iberoamerican Illustration Catalogue and on the Biennial of Illustrations Bratislava. Her work has been recognized among others with the Edelvives International Picture book award, CCEI Illustration award and Letteratura Ragazzi di Cento Illustratori award. Three of her recently published books as illustrator have been part of the prestigious White Ravens list in 2020 and 2021.
Art1st
Based in India, it was founded in 2009 with the goal of advocating visual art education as a core discipline in public and private schools, museum education, and community-based settings. They publish books to build cultural knowledge for children.
