An’s Seed

by Wang Zaozao, Huang Li

Description

Three little monks each received a thousand-year-old lotus seed from the master and were bent on planting them to harvest the most beautiful lotus blossoms.

Ben ran to find a hoe and started working right away. Yet soon he gave up since he saw no hopes.

Jing tried to get the best pot. He treasured his sprout so much that he covered it with a golden cover. Not very soon his sprout died out of sunlight.

An simply put the seed into a little cloth bag hung on his bosom and kept doing the routine. He waited through winter until spring came and then planted his seed. On the morning of a midsummer day An was able to see his thousand-year-old lotus blossom quietly and beautifully.

Jing and Ben made no less effort. But why couldn’t they succeed in planting the seed?

The story is just like a crystal clear pool of water in the summer washing the impatience of modern.
