Description
Ausgewählt wurden ca. 300 Gedichte nach drei Gesichtspunkten: Zum einen geht es darum, das Schönste und Wichtigste aus Klassik, Romantik und Moderne zu versammeln. Literaturgeschichtliche Epochen und Einschnitte werden sichtbar. Zweitens möchte diese Sammlung verdeutlichen, daß Lyrik den historischen Prozeß begleitet. Deshalb gilt ein weiterer Aspekt Gedichten, die auf geschichtliche und soziale Umbrüche reagieren. Und schließlich darf, drittens, in einer solchen Sammlung das erzählende und unterhaltende Moment nicht fehlen.
