Author Biography
Víctor Eduardo Caro (1877-1944) was one of the
most important Colombian
authors of books for children and YA of the 20th century. He was an engineer and a passionate man of letters, as it was his own father, president Miguel Antonio Caro. Víctor created the Chanchito (Little Pig) journal, which was published exclusively for children and had a unique humorous and casual style. In its pages, Caro wrote some of his best poems with indisputable literary quality. / Rafael Yockteng was born in Lima, Peru. He is a graphic designer and an illustrator. In 2000 he won the Utopia contest of IBBY for illustrators of children’s and YA books, and int 2003 the contest to illustrate the poster for the International Child’s Day. Since then he has illustrated several books and obtained many awards.
