policy was instituted in 1979 to slow China’s exploding population
growth, and “ Frog ”mostly concerns the tactics that people used to
get around the rule and the brutal methods that authorities used to
enforce it.

Author Biography
Guan Moye, better known by the pen name Mo Yan, is a Chinese novelist and short story writer. In 2012, Mo Yan was awarded the Nobel Prize in Literature. His works have been translated into more than 40 languages including English, French, Italian, Spanish, Russian, German etc.
