Author Biography
PETER SVETINA (1970) is a poet, writer, translator and a researcher of older Slovenian poetry, children’s and youth literature. He writes for children, young adults and adults, but his work often crosses the borders between different target audiences and can be read as crossover literature. His books for children and youth have been translated into several languages. His books have received some of the most prestigious national and international awards and are immensely popular among literary critics as well as young readers. The book Prayers from the Stairs won the Levstik Award for Best Original Work of Literature 2017, the Večernica Award 2017 and was nominated for the H.C. Andersen Award 2020.
ANA ZAVADLAV (1970) is a well known illustrator within the younger generation. Her illustrations appear in children’s
magazines on a regular basis and she has already illustrated
several picture books. She illustrated the famous book The Healing of the Cricket by Toon Tellegen; the illustrations were exhibited in Bologna 2019, and the National Book Agency of Slovenia dedicated the design of the stand to those illustrations.
