Romy Schneider gilt als die beliebteste deutschsprachige Schauspielerin: eine erfolgreiche, moderne, in sich zerrissene Künstlerin, die weit mehr war als nur »Sissi«. 1982, mit 43 Jahren, starb sie in Paris. Nicht zuletzt dieser frühe Tod trug zu ihrem Mythos bei, der bis heute fortlebt, in Deutschland wie in ihrer Wahlheimat Frankreich.

Author Biography
Thilo Wydra, 1968 in Wiesbaden geboren, studierte Komparatistik, Germanistik, Kunstgeschichte und Filmwissenschaft in Mainz und Dijon (Burgund). Seit 1998 lebt und arbeitet er als freier Journalist und Autor überwiegend in München. Seit Ende 2004 ist er Deutschland-Korrespondent der Filmfestspiele von Cannes.
