The Dark Side of Antarctica
by Ayal Warman
Description
The crash of the Dorothian starship in the icy waters of the Southern Ocean promised a new dawn for humanity: international cooperation, a global effort to aid the surviving alien crew, and technological breakthroughs that would change the world.
Jonathan, a young Israeli engineer, believed it too when he took off for a work assignment in Antarctic City—the metropolis-shelter built for the Dorothians.
Yet, the moment he lands, he discovers that reality on the frozen continent is far from what he expected. Like icebergs under a burning sun, the lies melt away to reveal a familiar truth: old rivalries between superpowers, mega-corporations, and corrupt leaders—they’re all there, each scheming to exploit the Dorothians for their own gain, each clawing for a piece of the new world order.
When Jonathan's project goes catastrophically wrong, he finds himself at the heart of a dangerous struggle. At his side is Renuka, his mission partner, who never wanted to be there and wants nothing to do with him. With them is Nontao, an alien whose communication is an enigma, bordering on the impossible.
How can they possibly cooperate against such hostile and predatory forces?
What secrets are hidden behind the big eyes of the seemingly gentle aliens?
And what the hell is the Israeli Mossad doing there?
Dark Side of Antarctica is a contemporary Israeli sci-fi thriller that is as original as it is gripping. Alongside a fast-paced and surprising plot, it offers a profound exploration of humanity and its future.
