Author Biography
Hugh Pym was a leading media correspondent and commentator during the COVID-19 pandemic. As BBC Health Editor he covered the key developments and frequently appeared at the virtual Downing Street press conferences, where he questioned ministers and Boris Johnson. He received the Charles Wheeler Award for Outstanding Contribution to Broadcast Journalism in 2020 and in the same year the Voice of the Listener and Viewer Award for Best TV Contributor. He was shortlisted for the London Press Club awards in 2021. He is the co-author of several books on politics and current affairs, including Inside the Banking Crisis (2014).
