Mitherausgeberin der Bargfelder Ausgabe der Werke Arno Schmidts und Herausgeberin der Tagebücher von Schmidts Ehefrau Alice. 2013 wurde sie mit dem Ben-Witter-Preis ausgezeichnet. Susanne Fischer lebt in einem kleinen Dorf bei Celle.
