Photo Travel Editions
Photo Travel Editions is an italian independent Publishing House founded in 2018 and directed by Giovanni Marino. Books and reading are necessary tools to communicate beauty and to transmit memory and identity. In this context, Photo Travel Editions, develops as a natural evolution of a complex reality with the aim of giving voice to the need to spread and share the cultural tool par excellence, the book. Photo Travel Editions combines aspects of traditional publishing with the new modern publishing of E-books and audiobooks. The publishing project offers nonfiction books, contemporary fiction, poetry, photographic books and the re-edition of rare books. Great attention is paid to emerging authors who will be offered the means to reach an increasingly important number of readers, giving them the opportunity to express themselves, communicate and excite through writing.

The Narrative Exposure Therapy manual is an effective, short-term, culturally universal intervention for trauma victims - including the latest insights and new treatments for dissociation and social pain. Narrative Exposure Therapy (NET) is a successful and culturally universal intervention for the treatment of survivors of multiple and severe traumatic events, such as organized violence, torture, war, rape, and childhood abuse. Field tests in contexts of ongoing adversity and disaster areas, as well as controlled trials in various countries, have shown that three to six sessions can be sufficient to provide considerable relief. The first part of the book describes the theoretical background. The second part shows how to use the NET approach step by step, with practical advice and tools, including how to deal with special issues (such as dealing with challenging moments, defense mechanisms for the therapist, and ethical issues). Appendices include an informed consent form, and checklists for the therapist. Target Group: Trauma therapists, clinical psychologists, counselors, psychiatrists, aid workers in conflict regions.

Hermann Hesses Rolle als Gründungsvater wird durch die Auflösung einer Dreiecksgeschichte rekonstruiert: Georg Reinhart, Peter Suhrkamp und Siegfried Unseld nähern sich Hesse auf eigenen Wegen. Erst als diese sich kreuzen, entsteht die Konstellation, in der Hesse als Weltautor und sein Verlag ihre Gestalt annehmen. Der Band enthält vier Beiträge, darunter die »Chronik 1903–2005«, zahlreiche Photos und Dokumente. Die gleichnamige Ausstellung fand 2005 im Museum Hermann Hesse (Montagnola) über 15.000 Besucher. Sie wird 2006 in den Hesse- Museen der Städte Calw und Gaienhofen sowie in Frankfurt am Main gezeigt werden.

Alice Schmidt wäre im Sommer 1953 lieber an die Riviera gereist, Arno dagegen plädierte zunächst für ein paar dringend benötigte Möbel. Schließlich verbrachten die beiden im Juni des Jahres fünf Tage am Dümmer, einem See bei Diepholz - abgesehen von einer Fahrt nach London ihre einzige Urlaubsreise. In den folgenden Wochen schrieb Schmidt unter dem Eindruck dieser Tage seine wohl zarteste Liebesgeschichte, Seelandschaft mit Pocahontas. Erstmals wird ein kompletter Zettelkasten zu einem Werk Arno Schmidts veröffentlicht; rund 700 Zettel und alle Manuskriptblätter werden im Vierfarb-Faksimile gezeigt, ergänzt um 20 Schwarz-Weiß-Photos und Auszüge aus dem Tagebuch Alice Schmidts. Die bisher erschienenen Faksimile-Ausgaben sind von der Stiftung Buchkunst, Frankfurt am Main, jeweils als »eines der schönsten deutschen Bücher des Jahres« ausgezeichnet worden.

The unsettled landscapes of Vancouver photo-conceptualism

Engendering an avant-garde is the first book to comprehensively examine the origins of Vancouver photo-conceptualism in its regional context between 1968 and 1990. Employing discourse analysis of texts written by and about artists, feminist critique and settler-colonial theory, the book discusses the historical transition from artists' creation of 'defeatured landscapes' between 1968-71 to their cinematographic photographs of the late 1970s and the backlash against such work by other artists in the late 1980s. It is the first study to provide a structural account for why the group remains all-male. It accomplishes this by demonstrating that the importation of a European discourse of avant-garde activity, which assumed masculine social privilege and public activity, effectively excluded women artists from membership.
