        It was always love

        by Hotel, Nikola

        She’s had enough of men, but he can’t get enough of her...   Away. Just get out of here. That's all Aubree thinks about when she gets kicked out of college after a party. She buys an incredibly old car, throws the few things she owns into the trunk and flees to her best friend Ivy in New Hampshire.    There, all she wants is to pull the blanket over her head and think of nothing else. Not about that night. Not about the party. And most of all, not that picture that's been circulating on the Internet ever since. But it doesn't work. Because instead of her friend, she meets Noah, Ivy's stepbrother. With his impulsive but surprisingly sensitive nature, Noah evokes feelings in her that she doesn't need right now. And which, nevertheless, sweep her away like a storm...     Second volume of a romantic and exciting dilogy with 20 lavishly illustrated hand-lettered pages by Carolin Magunia. Including a playlist that can be found on Spotify and contains songs which match perfectly with the story! It was always you (Vol. 1) entered the Spiegel bestseller list immediately after its publication. Both titles can be read separately. For all fans of Mona Kasten, Laura Kneidl and Kelly Moran! 30.000 copies of vol. 1 + 2 were sold since June 2020!

        The Library and archive collections of the University of Aberdeen

        An introduction and description

        by Edited by Iain Beaven, Peter Davidson and Jane Stevenson

        This volume commences with the the books and manuscripts given at the foundation of King's College in 1495, continues with the collections which accrued to Marischal College from its foundation in 1593, and comes together with the fusion of the two colleges in 1860 in the modern University of Aberdeen. From the beginning, the scope and focus of the University was international, and its developing collections represent a microcosm of the world of knowledge as it changed over the centuries. The University Colleges of Aberdeen have a distinct intellectual tradition: pragmatically tolerant in times of persecution; dissident from the religious and political policies of the Lowlands; looking outwards to the world of northern Europe and to the territories of the Jacobite diaspora. The book introduces one of the oldest continually-evolving academic library collections of the Anglophone world, surveys its history and includes a series of studies of items or collections of particular interest. ;

        Cannabis has been used as a drug since antiquity – but only recently has it progressed to become one of the most exciting medical-pharmaceutical topics of our times. In scarcely any other area of pharmacotherapy has the state of knowledge recently developed at comparable speed. Experts from a variety of fields are constantly working to generate new scientific evidence for the therapeutic use of cannabis and/or cannabinoids and to provide patients with quality-assured medicinal cannabis. This book is the first to give representatives of all relevant areas of expertise the chance to speak. Alongside medical-therapeutic aspects, they address such questions as cultivation, quality assurance, patient care practices and patient counselling. The result of this accumulated knowledge and skill is a unique overall picture that, for the first time, combines and consolidates the current legal and scientific framework of medicinal cannabis provision! All facts have been painstakingly researched and checked. The result is a scientifically valid work, which sets the standard. This excellent compendium is indispensable for everyone who comes into contact with cannabis for professional or personal reasons.

        The humanities and the Irish university

        Anomalies and opportunities

        by Michael O'Sullivan

        This is the first book-length study of the humanities and the Irish university. Ireland was a deeply religious country throughout the twentieth century but the colleges of its National University never established a religion or theology department. The official first language of Ireland is Irish but the vast majority of teaching in the arts and humanities is in English. These are two of the anomalies that long constrained humanities education in Ireland. This book charts a history of responses to humanities education in the Irish context. Reading the work of John Henry Newman, Padraig Pearse, Sean O Tuama, Denis Donoghue, Declan Kiberd, Richard Kearney and others, it looks for an Irish humanities ethos. It compares humanities models in the US, France and Asia with those in Ireland in light of work by Immanuel Kant, Pierre Bourdieu and Jacques Derrida. It should appeal to those interested in Irish education and history. ;
