Königshausen & Neumann was founded in 1979 by Johannes Königshausen and Thomas Neumann and quickly became a well-known publisher of humanities titles both nationally and internationally. Today, we have a backlist of more than 7.000 available (!) titles, focusing on philosophy, literary and cultural studies, history, psychology, musicology, and art history. Our aim is to accompany developments in academia through our publications and to make developments in academia visible and accessible in the first place. As a publishing house, we want to be a forum for discourse, not of a single idea, but of a plurality of ideas. The followers of Wittgenstein, for example, are represented in our program as are his critics.
