Chinese Ethnic Minority Costume Culture and Traditional Crafts: Qiang Ethnic Group
Qiang Ethnic Group
by Fan Xin, Zhong Maolan, Liu Yuanzhong
Description
The costumes and craftsmanship of ethnic minorities are among the relatively well-preserved components of China's traditional culture, with Qiang costumes and embroidery standing out as outstanding representatives. Having been inherited over 4,000 to 5,000 years, their profound cultural connotations and ethnic characteristics have exerted a far-reaching influence on the integration and inheritance of numerous surrounding ethnic groups.
"To learn from the past and gain new insights," the Qiang costume culture and traditional craftsmanship require better inheritance and protection. This title introduces the Qiang people's historical evolution, cultural characteristics, ethnic costumes, and traditional craftsmanship. It focuses on the "living protection" of intangible cultural heritage, emphasizing integration and application with modern design.
The book provides professionals and enthusiasts in folk art with approaches to discover the "Chinese elements" in ethnic minority art and identify the "exciting points" and "key points" of folk arts and crafts, enabling them to "come alive" in modern design innovation. Innovation is crucial for folk arts and crafts to enter the market, as it allows Qiang costume culture and traditional craftsmanship to exert their unique cultural value and historical significance.
