Author Biography

Author. Yulita Ran is a modern Ukrainian writer, playwright, screenwriter, theatre director, and curator of art projects. Her audience are children, teenagers and adults, she generates ideas in the areas of documentary and post-documentary theatre, baby theatre, inclusive, interactive theatre, and theatre pedagogics. As an author, Yulita Ran’s creative work consists of over 30 books for children and over 40 plays for children and adults that were performed on stage.

Illustrator. Maria Kryshtal is originally from the temporarily occupied Berdiansk. She graduated from the Kharkiv State Academy of Design and Fine Arts in 2022, specialising in book graphics. Engaged in book illustration and calligraphy, she also taught at an art studio. Since the onset of the full-scale invasion, her tablet has become her only working tool — it allows her to draw amidst constant relocations.  Mariaʼs artistic works have always reflected real life and its surroundings, and that is the reason why they resonate with many hearts. The illustrations being prepared for the book merge traditional notions of inhabitants of the afterlife with modern trends in comic book design.
