N. S. Brooke believes that the earlier text gives a more certain indication of Chapman's intentions and he has supported this view in an introduction and by a bibliographical and critical study of the play. The divergence between the texts of 1607 and 1641 are set out clearly in this volume, which includes the usual textual and critical apparatus found in the Revels series. ;

The heroic story of the invention of antidepressants is a key part of the psychopharmaceutical turn. On Trial revolves around one of its pioneers, psychiatrist Roland Kuhn, who practiced in Münsterlingen, a state-run psychiatric hospital in Switzerland. Kuhn became famous for the 'discovery' of the first antidepressant, Tofranil, and more recently notorious for his numerous trials on often unsuspecting patients. Largely based on the extensive and previously inaccessible sources of Kuhn's private archive, the book delves into the early days of industry-sponsored clinical research in psychiatry. It examines how the clinic, patients, doctors, nursing staff, corporations, and authorities interacted in the trials. Conducted from the 1940s to 1980s, the Münsterlingen drug trials are historicised and situated in the period's evolving landscape of experimentation.
Art, medicine and health have many points of contact and a long tradition. Even in Greek mythology, Apollo was the god of the arts. Artistic approaches to therapy (including visual and performing arts, music, dance and literature) have been used for many centuries and are still offered in some medical institutions today. Despite this long practical experience, there is little scientific evidence of its effectiveness. Basic research provides an important basis for art therapy with interesting new approaches for investigating possible mechanisms of action. In addition, the overall social signifi- cance of art for health is an important topic, especially with regard to preventive effects for the population. The book provides a comprehensive overview of how art can be used as a health-promoting resource and highlights various research approaches. In addition, a brief review of the historical development of art in medicine is given. For the first time, the influence of music, painting, dance, literature and architecture on people’s state of health and the healing effect they can have is shown. Die Psalmen hat das Christentum übernommen, die im Raum der lateinischen Kultur entstandenen Hymnen sind sein eigener Beitrag zur Lyrik der Weltliteratur. Im 4. Jahrhundert setzt diese für Gottesdienst und private Frömmigkeit gedachte Literatur ein. Am Ende des Mittelalters ist der Bestand auf annähernd dreißigtausend Titel angewachsen. Hunderte sind in der Neuzeit im ständigen liturgischen Gebrauch geblieben. Der lateinische Hymnus wurde, wie etwa bei dem Passionslied „O Haupt, voll Blut und Wunden”, Grundlage deutschsprachiger Kirchenlieddichtung. Stücke wie das „Stabat mater” oder „Dies irae” haben große Kompositionen angeregt. Aus diesem Schatz werden in der vorliegenden Ausgabe dreiunddreißig Titel ausgewählt. Auf den lateinischen Text folgt jeweils eine Neuübersetzung oder eine liturgisch verwendete Nachdichtung. Einige Bemerkungen zur Textüberlieferung und ein ausführlicher Kommentar erschließen jeweils den Hymnus. Die Auswahl folgt dem Ablauf des Kirchenjahres und des monastischen Stundengebets. Sie ist exemplarisch für die literarische und theologische Vielfalt des Genres und kann als kleine poetische Summe der lateinischen Tradition des Christentums gelesen werden.
