Parresia Publishers Limited
The publishing company from Lagos, Nigeria, was founded in 2012 by Azafi Omoluabi and Richard Ali. Their objective was to publish books by first-time authors, to sell books to the Nigerian reading audience, and to promote the freedom of the imagination and the free press.Parrésia started out intending to give a voice to writers who have never been heard on the Nigerian publishing scene.In 2016, Parrésia won the NLNG Prize for Literature, its first award with Abubakar Adam Ibrahim’s “Season of Crimson Blossoms”.In 2017, Parrésia Publishers was described by The New York Times as one of “a handful of influential new publishing houses” in Africa in the last decade.Parrésia publishes its fiction, and creative non-fiction works under three imprints: Regium is our traditional publishing imprint, Origami Books, for all genres of writing for clients interested in self-publishing or vanity publishing, and Ọmọde Mẹta, is our traditional publishing and self-publishing imprint, which will publish Children’s Books and Young Adult fiction.

Verhaltensweisen, Handlungen und Reaktionen eines Partners ermöglichen, fordern und stabilisieren die neurotische Konfliktabwehr des anderen Partners. Oft ist der Vorgang reziprok, so daß auch die Abwehr des ersten Partners durch den zweiten gefestigt wird. Ähnliches gilt auch für die institutionalisierten Formen der psychosozialen Abwehr, die im zweiten Teil dieses Buches beschrieben werden. Institutionen erfüllen zwar vital wichtige Funktionen und sind fürs Überleben und eine differenzierte Entwicklung unerläßlich: gerade dadurch sind sie aber oft besonders dazu geeignet, in den Dienst der neurotischen Abwehr gestellt zu werden. Auch hier besteht das Grundprinzip in einer Erhärtung, Sicherung und Festigung der intrapsychischen Abwehr durch ihre Verankerung in der Realität. Die Taschenbuchausgabe wurde gegenüber der Erstausgabe von 1976 um zwei Kapitel erweitert: eins über die Kulturtheorie und ein zweites über die psychosoziale Funktion des Krieges.

British imperial civil aviation, 1919–39

Air empire is a fresh study of civil aviation as a tool of late British imperialism. The first pioneering flights across the British empire in 1919-20 were flag-waving adventures that recreated an era of plucky British maritime exploration and conquest. Britain's development of international air routes and services was approved, organised and celebrated largely in London; there was some resistance in and beyond the subordinate colonies and dominions. Negotiating the financing and geopolitics of regular commercial air service delayed its inception until the 1930s. Technological, managerial and logistical problems also meant that Britain was slow into the air and slow in the air. Propaganda concealed underperformance and criticism. The study uses archival sources, biographies, industry magazines and newspapers to chronicle the disputed progress toward air empire. The rhetoric behind imperial air service offers a glimpse of late imperial hopes, fears, attitudes and style. Empire air service had emotional appeal and symbolic value, but disappointed in practice.
