Author Biography
Anthonie Holslag is a poet and scientist born in Amsterdam. At a young age he moved to Watertown, New York in the United States where he spent his teenage years. There he went to Indian River Central High School. In the period from 2012 to 2016 three of his short fiction collections were published by Zilverspoor Publishers: Black Walls, which was extremely well received by readers and reviewers, A Blood-drenched Dawn and its sequel In the chilly morning light, all royalties of which go to WarTrauma. At the end of 2016, Quasis published the short story L.O.O.P. in the Splinters series and in 2017 they published the psychological thriller Refuge, his first novel. His literary horror novel Crushed Voices was published in 2023 in which he connects Bram Stoker's novel Dracula with the oldest vampire legends.
He once said in an interview that writing is a way for him to escape the terrible, yet somehow the terrible always comes back in his stories. His stories are often described by critics as ‘personal’, ‘layered’ with good ‘character deepening’, and ‘denouements that often hit like a bang’. He is known for his subtle horror.
