Author Biography
Wang Jinhua is a preeminent collector of traditional Chinese textile embroidery and silver jewelry culture. To date, he has amassed over a thousand silk artifacts—including costumes, cloud shoulders (yúnjiān), and pillow tops—and more than a thousand pieces of jewelry such as hairpins, hair combs, crowns, bracelets, and longevity locks. His collection is distinguished by its large scale, rich variety, and excellent preservation, holding immense research value.
A dedicated and rigorous scholar, Wang has achieved remarkable results in the study of Ming and Qing costumes and silver jewelry. Deeply committed to the research, protection, dissemination, and inheritance of traditional culture, he founded the "Elegance & Popularity Art Garden" (Yású Yìshù Yuàn), providing a cultural exchange platform for art researchers and enthusiasts worldwide. Additionally, he has contributed numerous collections and related images to the establishment of museums across China, various artifact exhibitions, and the publication of scholarly works by experts and academics.
Wang has held prominent positions including Standing Director of the Antique Trade Chamber of the All-China Federation of Industry and Commerce, Chairman of the Classical Textile Embroidery Research Association of the Beijing Antique City Chamber of Commerce, and Vice Chairman of the Private Economy Association of Beijing Antique City.
